We welcome you to the mindfulness retreat. Please read and adhere to these few ground rules to ensure that the TrailBliss Mindfulness retreats continue to be nurturing, comfortable, and safe for all the participants.

Intention, Readiness, and Responsibility

Please come with the intention of fully participating in all aspects of the retreat. Your efforts and contributions will affect the group, and in turn, just as you will rely on the efforts of others. Take the whole group into account when making decisions and taking action.

Everyone should feel welcome, regardless of their background or beliefs. Be courteous and respectful to all. Avoid offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, body size, spiritual path, or religion.

Communicate effectively

We don’t all communicate the same way or with the same level of skill. Clear communication can help avoid misunderstandings, and it’s important to remember that words can have different meanings based on background. Always ask for clarification rather than making assumptions. Please avoid inflammatory remarks, trolling, personal attacks, or repetitive arguments. We commit not to engage in gossip, verbal or emotional abuse, insults, demeaning comments, excessive use of profanity, or manipulative speech. Instead, we aspire to speak truthfully, kindly, and in service to the integrity and harmony of the community.

Acceptance of the Teacher and the Technique

We ask that you come with a beginner’s mind, open to following the teacher’s guidance. Observe the disciplines and practices as instructed, without omitting or adding anything. This is about trusting the process, not blind submission. Confidence in the teacher and the technique supports the effectiveness of meditation and breathwork practices.

Minimize or avoid distractions

Please do not bring any smart devices, books and/or other distractions to the retreat. Keep your phones switched off or put them on “focus” mode. In case of an emergency, loved ones can contact the TrailBliss team at 425-202-6240. Avoid using reflection or silence time for reading or listening to music, to help maintain mindful reflection.

Food

We strive to prepare a wholesome, balanced, vegetarian menu suitable for meditation, without subscribing to any particular food philosophy. If any participants have been prescribed a special diet because of ill health, please inform us at the time of your booking. Please do not use the retreat as a time for fasting or a new diet regime. You’re welcome to bring healthy, vegetarian snacks if you have dietary restrictions.

Physical Exercise

During the TrailBliss Mindfulness retreat yoga and walks will be done as part of the retreat program. Please set aside other exercise routines during retreat time.

Tobacco, Intoxicants, and Drugs

For everyone’s health and comfort, smoking (including vaping), chewing tobacco, and snuff are not permitted. No drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants are allowed.

Clothing and Laundry

Dress in simple, comfortable clothing. Please bring enough clothing for the entire retreat, as laundry facilities will not be available.
